Fellow Compatriots and Members of NIDO Africa,
The Members of the Board of Trustees,
Distinguished Country Chapter Presidents,
Respected Delegates of the General Assembly,
It is with a profound sense of responsibility, humility, and an unwavering commitment to the
progress of our global community as the elected Continental Chairman. Having served as a two-
time President of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO), Lesotho Chapter, I have witnessed
firsthand the extraordinary resilience, intellect, and capacity of the Nigerian diaspora across this
beautiful continent.
Honoring the Giants Before Us
Our journey as an organization has been shaped by visionary leaders who sacrificed their time,
energy, and resources to lay the foundations upon which we stand today. I wish to pay my highest
tributes to our past leaders who steered this ship with courage and distinction. We remember with
a deep sense of reverence Dr. Babatunde Lee (of blessed memory), whose passion and legacy
remain etched in the institutional fabric of NIDO Africa.
We also acknowledge and celebrate the
immense contributions of Dr. Kingsman Chikelu and Amb. Titus Alagba, whose collective efforts
have brought us this far. To my fellow comrades at my local chapter, NIDO Lesotho, I thank you for
the supports all these years for my activities at the Continental level. It is on these solid shoulders
that I intend to stand to take NIDO Africa into a new era of unprecedented impact.
Protecting Our Foundations and Democratic Structure
A house built on structural integrity will withstand any storm. As your Continental Chairman,
together with my able executive committee members, I pledge that the interests of the General
Assembly, the Board of Trustees, and the sacred provisions of our Constitution shall be strictly protected, respected, and upheld. Our administration will operate under the guidance of
constitutionalism, financial transparency, and structural accountability.
I recognize that the true strength of NIDO Africa lies within its local chapters. I commit to working
together with all recognized Country Chapter Presidents who align with the NIDO Africa Structure.
We will build a collaborative synergy where no chapter is left behind, ensuring that continental
leadership serves as an enabling catalyst for the growth of individual country chapters.
The Core Pillars of Our Vision
Our strategic plan is anchored on three transformative pillars tailored to reposition NIDO Africa as a
major stakeholder in continental development:
• Advocacy & Welfare: Institutionalizing robust support mechanisms to protect the legal,
economic, and social welfare of every Nigerian living, studying, or doing business across Africa.
• Education & Skill Development: Creating platforms for knowledge transfer, professional
mentoring, and strategic capacity building to empower our youth and professionals.
• Investment & Partnerships: Fostering mutually beneficial economic ties between diaspora
investors, local African businesses, and the Nigerian homeland to drive sustainable
development.
A New Dispensation: Unity and National Cohesion
Fellow compatriots, we must remind ourselves of who we are. We are Nigerians first. In this
upcoming dispensation, national cohesion shall be our absolute watchword.
Let me make this solemn, unequivocal declaration: Ethnicity campaigns and tribal sentiments shall
not raise their ugly heads in the coming Executive Committee. We cannot afford the luxury of
division. The artificial lines that separate us at home must not break our bonds abroad. Under my
leadership, NIDO Africa will be a sanctuary of unity where merit, capacity, character, and love for
our nation supersede any ethnic or regional affiliation. We will lead with an inclusive, blind-to-tribe
approach that celebrates our diverse strengths.
Experience. Vision. Commitment.
With my extensive background steering the Lesotho Chapter through complex challenges, I bring to
the table proven leadership, a people-focused mindset, and a result-driven agenda. We, as
executives, not coming to be served; we ensure that you are exceptionally well served, that your
voices are amplified, and that our organization regains its rightful place of pride.
Let us build the future together. Let us stand united for impact and empowered for progress.
