*MODAKEKE’S FINEST HONOURED: ALHAJI (DR.) MURTADA ADEYEMI ADENIJI RECEIVES OAU AWARD*
The ancient town of Modakeke is beaming with pride as one of its distinguished sons, Alhaji Murtada Adeyemi Adeniji, Chairman and CEO of Starlink Global Ltd, has been selected to receive the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Academic and Research Excellence Practice Award for 2025.
This highly competitive award, now in its third edition, is part of OAU’s Annual Academic and Research Excellence Practice Celebration, which aims to spotlight excellence, impact, and distinction among alumni of the institution. Previous recipients include notable personalities such as Professor Anthony Olusegun Adegbulugbe and Professor Yusuff Olaolu Ali (SAN).
Alhaji Adeniji’s selection as this year’s honouree is a testament to his outstanding contributions to academia, research, and entrepreneurship, both within and beyond Nigeria. His company, Starlink Global Ltd, is renowned for its innovation and employment-generating initiatives in the commodities and agribusiness sectors.
The Modakeke community is ecstatic about this recognition, with indigenes both home and abroad expressing pride and solidarity. The Modakeke Progressive Union (MPU) has called on all Modakeke sons and daughters to attend the award ceremony, stating, “Let us prove to the whole world that our candidate is the best choice for the award. This is another colourful feather added to Modakeke’s cap.”
The award ceremony is scheduled to hold today, Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the iconic Oduduwa Hall, within the campus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. As Modakeke prepares to celebrate this achievement, the air is filled with jubilation and community pride. Indeed, Akoraye has once again proven that it breeds giants.
